Why is there almost no activity in this community?

Hi

I am a very new GitHub Education Community member and I don’t really understand why there is almost no activity in any category.

It’s a little bit disappointing, because the GHEC could be great – for teacher as well as students. But I am unsure what I should post or which topics I should create, and it seems to me that I am probably not the only one …

Hi Tobias,

Thanks for the feedback. We definitely want to make this community special. While topics like our open source lesson plans for teaching Git and GitHub and our directions for receiving a swag bag for your classroom receive a lot of views, there does seem to be a shortage of new topics and discussions begun by educators.

A good place to start might be engaging on this thread to tell us what we can improve.

However, we’d  to hear from you:

  • What have been the biggest challenges you’ve faced or successes you’ve had teaching technology education in the classroom?
  • What little-known resource have you relied upon that other teachers might find useful?
  • What’s a student project that’s absolutely blown you away?

The discussion isn’t limited to only GitHub.

Maybe take advantage of the geographic diversity of community members and ask about standards being set in other countries, or get your students collaborating internationally on projects.

Starting a new topic is just a click away.

Cheers,
Scott
