Join Google and GitHub Education’s partnership to spark passion for CS in young minds!

Google’s igniteCS program is partnering with GitHub Education in an effort to remove inequities in CS education. With igniteCS, college and university students in the US and Canada design and implement CS education mentorship programs to K-12 students in their communities. GitHub Education is generously providing their resources, time, and expertise as our mentors and mentees build their technical skills.

Providing meaningful and inclusive CS experiences to diverse student populations, many of whom do not have CS curricula in their schools, is a cornerstone of igniteCS. We’re so proud of the impact our mentors have had, inspiring their mentees to solve big problems, pursue further education, and create technology - not just consume it.

If you’re a K-12 educator and you’d like to have college or university students partner with your school and mentor your students in CS, reach out to We will help connect you with undergraduates in your community!

If you’re an undergraduate, or an educator of undergraduates, applications are open now through September 18, with another application cycle coming in January. Visit our website for details on applying.
