How to add teachers

Hi all!

Our academy recently has become GitHub Campus and we enjoy it all!

I have one question about adding teachers into organization so that, they can benefit both from training programs and can add their class students so they can enjoy the student packs as well.

We have 8 programming instructors and each of them has at least one class of minimum 6 students.

These instructors are owners of the organization, however they can neither benefit from the campus advisors program, nor apply for student developer pack for their students. Does anyone know how to do it?

Any help will be appreciated!

Hi @vugarja

Thank you for reaching out on our GitHub Community! :tada:

To answer your questions,

These instructors are owners of the organization, however they can neither benefit from the campus advisors program,

For GitHub Campus Program purposes: You choose who on campus needs to complete the training. The training is free, online, and takes 10 hours or less to complete. The goal is to have someone in each department who feels a sense of mastery over Git and GitHub and can help other teachers and administrators.

If you’d like all of your instructors to go through training they can start here:

and once they’re ready they can begin training.

nor apply for student developer pack for their students. Does anyone know how to do it?

You can reference this Community GitHub Campus Program thread: Helping students to get Student Pack

Once Campus Advisor training is complete, please email schools@github.com so we can help further with this process. In the meantime, your students are welcome to apply for a GitHub Student Developer Pack here: https://education.github.com/pack/join

I hope this helps!

Hi Vugar,

Did you already use this link to apply to become a campus advisor? Once you go to this page, scroll down to the bottom where the application form is. I think that’s the first step, and it was difficult to find

Hi Darrel,

Thank you for the link and planning to use it soon! Fingers crossed everything will be fine.

Oops, actually I sent you the wrong link. Try this one instead:

pend more time with students, less on setup.

Students accept an assignment with one link, so you can get straight to the material.

Bootstrap group assignments in a snap.

Invite students to a shared repository, and cap the number of students per group. Use the same groups over and over again, or create new ones.

Download all repositories with the click of a button.

When you’re ready to grade, download assignments to your machine from GitHub Classroom, or use our new desktop client, Classroom Assistant.
